Fall/Halloween Decorating Contest

NEWTON, NC (Nov. 4, 2019)—The Newton Appearance Commission recently named Cregg Laws and Narrow Coffee & Nosh the winners of its 2019 Fall/Halloween Decorating Contest.

Awards were presented to the owners of one residence and one business within the city of Newton who decorated their homes, yards, or businesses with a fall or Halloween theme.

In the residential category, Cregg Laws won for his home on North Ashe Avenue. His yard and porch were decorated with a variety of spooky adornments including cemeteries, wooden signs and creepy figures.

In the business category, Narrow Coffee & Nosh on North College Avenue was named the winner. The front windows of the business were painted in a Halloween theme by artist Missy Cleveland. The business is operated by Marisa Belanger.

The Appearance Commission would like to thank everyone in the community who showed off their autumn spirit and civic pride during the contest.
