Downtown Newton Christmas Crawl

NEWTON, NC (Nov. 2, 2018)—The Downtown Newton Christmas Crawl will be Friday, Nov. 9, and Saturday, Nov. 10, in Downtown Newton.

Kick off the holiday season by shopping at all 18 downtown businesses that will be participating with holiday open houses, special offers, giveaways, and tastings. Check with your favorite businesses to get details about their hours and specials.

The Downtown Newton Development Association is promoting the event, which was created and organized by Jennifer Stiver, the proprietor of 2 Pink Magnolias, as a way to bring more shoppers to town for each business’ open house events.

The DNDA would like to make sure shoppers know that businesses affected by Newton’s streetscape revitalization project, which is currently under way on Main Avenue, are open and can be accessed via sidewalks even when the street is closed due to construction. In addition to on-street parking, shoppers may park at free public parking lots at the corner of B Street and College Avenue, at the corner of 2nd Street and Main Avenue, and on Ashe Avenue at 2nd Street.

“Downtown Newton is a wonderful place to start holiday shopping. Supporting local businesses is a great way to build community,” said Shannon Johnson, Newton’s Main Street Program Coordinator.
