Renwood Mills Biscuit Day

NEWTON, NC (June 6, 2018)—Renwood Mills will host their annual Biscuit Day celebration June 13 in Downtown Newton.

Biscuit Day will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on the 1924 Courthouse Square.

Renwood Mills will be serving freshly made Southern biscuits with sausage, sausage gravy, and Cheerwine soft drinks. The event is free for all members of the community and is one of the ways Renwood Mills enjoys giving back to their friends and neighbors.

Live music will be provided by The Sigmon Stringers, a three-generation bluegrass and gospel band from Newton.

The Newton Public Art Commission will also be at the event to share information about new pieces of art being installed around the city as part of the commission’s Art for the Public exhibition.

Renwood Mills has offered locally sourced flour and cornmeal since 1935. Today, Renwood Mills has relationships with about 500 farmers in and around North Carolina and has a daily flour milling capacity of more than 750,000 pounds. Their flour, cornmeal, and mixes are milled in their facility just east of the 1924 Courthouse Square and are made using time-honored practices to deliver consistent products made from the grains of our neighboring farmers.
